78th Annual Provincial Congress and Annual General Meeting

The 78th Annual Provincial Congress and the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of the Air Cadet League of Canada (Quebec and Ottawa Valley) was held from September 27th to 29th 2019. Approximately 300 members, partners and cadets gathered at the École nationale de police du Québec in Nicolet for a weekend of training, exchanges and recognition.

 

The Chairperson’s award took place that same weekend. This is the highest award given by the Provincial Committee to a cadet who demonstrates the following qualities: a sense of responsibility and commitment, a willingness to excel and a sense of communication.

 

The grand prize winner and our cadet-ambassador for the year 2019-2020 is Warrant Officer 1st Class Tayeb Idjakirene of 518 Rosemont Squadron. He was awarded the Chairperson’s award and a check for $ 500. He becomes the spokesperson of the year for the Air Cadet League of Canada (Quebec and the Ottawa Valley).

Exceptionnally this year, thanks to the generous contribution of the Royal Canadian Air Force Association in collaboration with Bell Helicopter, 2 additionnal prizes where awarded.

 

A second prize of $ 300 was given to Warrant Officer First Class Beatrice Cajvan of 803 – North Shore Sabre squadron by Miss Claudia Boies, CAE’s Senior manager, Global communications.

 

A third prize of $ 200 was given to Flight Sergeant Vincent Amankwah of 75 Barrhaven squadron, by Miss Katy De Grandpré, Regional Vice-president, BMO Banque de Montréal.

From Montérégie Region, Flight Sergeant Samantha Desbiens from 867 – Vaudreuil- Dorion Squadron, from the Laurentides region, 2nd Class Warrant Officer Derviine Muthukuraman of the 757 Mascouche Squadron, out of the Ottawa region Sergeant Vincent Amankwah of 75 Barrhaven Squadron, Montreal West region Warrant Officer 1st Class Beatrice Cajvan of the 803 North Shore Saber Squadron and the Montreal East Region the cadet-ambassador Warrant Officer 1st Class Tayeb Idjakirene.
