Obituary – Mr. Jacques Patenaude

21 November 2025

It is with deep sadness that the QOVPC announces the passing of Mr. Jacques Patenaude, a dedicated member of the Sponsoring Committee of 643 St-Hubert Squadron.

A volunteer with the Air Cadet League of Canada for more than 35 years, Mr. Patenaude left a significant mark on the history of his squadron through his exceptional dedication. Over the years, he served as president, vice-president, and honorary member, tirelessly giving his time and energy to support young cadets.

The Lorraine and Jacques Patenaude Award, named in his honour and in memory of his wife, who passed away in 2017, stands as a testament to the lasting impact they both left within their community. This annual award is presented to the cadet who best embodies the values dear to Mr. Patenaude: pride of belonging, camaraderie, and personal discipline.

The heartfelt condolences of the Québec and Ottawa Valley Provincial Committee, along with all its members and staff, are with his family and with everyone affected by this great loss.

For those who wish to pay their last respects:
The funeral will be held at LFC Funeral Home (Robert Cenac Rive-Sud),
540 Coteau-Rouge Road (Ste-Foy), Longueuil,
on November 29, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

A tribute will also be held during the semi-annual parade of the 643 squadron on Monday, December 15, 2025.

Thank you for everything, Jacques. Your presence, generosity, and many years of dedicated service deeply impacted 643 Squadron. Your memory will remain a source of pride and inspiration.
