It is both an honor and a privilege to serve as Chairperson of the Quebec and Ottawa Valley Provincial Committee of the Air Cadet League of Canada. Over my years of involvement, I have had the pleasure of working alongside dedicated volunteers, board members, and military partners who share a common passion: supporting the Air Cadet Program and its remarkable cadets.
Each of my predecessors has brought their unique vision, expertise, and commitment to this role, ensuring the League continues to thrive and evolve. Their mentorship and guidance, both past and present, have been invaluable. Having had the privilege of working alongside many of my predecessors, I continue to benefit from their input and am deeply grateful for their ongoing support and mentorship.
As Chairperson, I recognize the importance of focusing our efforts on initiatives that have the greatest impact. My priorities include enhancing support for volunteers, improving training opportunities, and fostering stronger partnerships with the military, and our community and industry stakeholders. Achieving these goals would not be possible without the dedication and expertise of our Board of Directors, who bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the table.
Our most valuable asset is our volunteers. Their passion, dedication, and tireless efforts are what ensure the success of the Air Cadet Program in communities across Quebec and the Ottawa Valley. Their commitment directly contributes to the success of squadrons so that cadets have what they need to excel and reach their full potential. They are the heart of our organization, and their contributions make a difference every day.
Volunteering with the League provides countless personal rewards. It allows you to build meaningful connections, expand your professional network, develop new skills, gain career-related experience, and apply your talents to make a positive impact in your community.
A common question from new volunteers is, “What is expected of me?” The answer is simple: to engage fully and contribute your unique talents to the team. If you are approached to join a team or lead an initiative, remember that these efforts thrive on your participation, creativity, and dedication. Your involvement is key to achieving our shared mission.
Together, we can achieve great things. By uniting our efforts and focusing on our shared mission, we ensure that the Air Cadet Program remains an exceptional opportunity for youth across Quebec and the Ottawa Valley.
Thank you to all our volunteers for your unwavering commitment and dedication. Let’s continue to work together to inspire and support the next generation of leaders.
Sincerely,
Marie Christine Lalonde
