All cadets are eligible to receive the Air Cadet Service Medal after 4 years of continuous service completed by September 30 of the training year. The application must be made jointly by the squadron Commanding Officer and the SSC Chairperson by completing form CPQVO-305, available on the CPQVO Intranet. It is important to note that the national ACC56 form is not accepted within the territory of the QOVPC. Once the form has been received by the provincial office, it can take three to four weeks to process an application during the peak period between March and May. Once the application has been processed, the medals must be presented on parade (typically at the annual ceremonial parade) by a representative of the Air Cadet League.
For cadets who have completed years of service beyond the four-year period, a set of bars and rosettes is also available for each additional full year completed, using the same form and process.
More information is available in the Scholarships and Awards Guide (CPQVO-611).
