$10,000 DONATION FROM THE FONDATION DES AMIS DE L’AVIATION ROYALE DU CANADA
Engine replacement project
St-Jean-sur-Richelieu, QC, June 3, 2020. – The Quebec and Ottawa Valley provincial committee of the Air Cadet League of Canada (QOVPC) is proud to announce that we have received a $10,000 donation from the Fondation des amis de l’Aviation royale du Canada (FAARC), in support of the tow-plane engines replacement project for the gliding program.
Our finance committee presented this project to the FAARC’s Board of Directors, highlighting the challenges faced by the League to properly maintain the Air Cadet Gliding Program (ACGP).
The goal of the ACGP is to provide air cadets with practical experience in the field of aviation and to pursue a career in that field if they so desire. It also has an objective of providing at least one familiarisation flight per year to each cadet. The QOVPC owns six tow-planes, fifteen gliders and three mobile winches. These are operated in six designated locations, namely in St-Jean sur Richelieu, Bromont, Valcartier, Bagotville, Lachute and Smith Falls.
The QOVPC wishes to thank the Fondation des amis de l’Aviation royale du Canada for their financial support.
