Royal Canadian Legion cadet of the year award
Warrant Officer First Class Tommy Harvey, Cadet Commanding Officer of 634 Jonquière Squadron, was awarded the Royal Canadian Legion Cadet of the Year Award and the Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence.
WO1 Harvey distinguished himself at the 2021 Chairman’s Award provincial competition interviews held on October 3rd by finishing in 2nd place.
He is also the national recipient of one of the Air Line Pilots Association (ALPA) Scholarships, a Provincial Post Secondary Scholarship and one of the Welley Gerard Cyr Scholarships.
Due to the pandemic, WO1 Harvey was unable to be a member of the Vice Regal Procession at the Remembrance Day ceremony in Ottawa.
The presentation of the Medal of Excellence and the National Certificate took place on December 9 in the presence of Mr. Raynald Bouchard, Past President of the Air Cadet League of Canada (Quebec and Ottawa Valley), Mr. Alain Lavoie, President of the 634 Squadron Sponsoring Committee, the Commanding Officer, Capt. Jean-Marc Vaillancourt, CD and Mr. Gerry Harvey, CD, President of Branch 209 Arvida of the Royal Canadian Legion.
